Ace Athletics is Ridiculous

I think I'm at the point now where I miss the 'Burgh (to a certain extent). Living in NYC is great, but I get tired of the constant commercials for Hillside Honda (I live in Queens) and the subway ads for Dr. Zizmor. Give me Willi's all day (or...never thought I'd say this...the 9020 guys at the very least).

So I need a question answered. Is the above video an actual commercial circulating through the 'Burgh? It seems like it could easily be some viral spoof, but the company is legit, and I'm far enough removed from the area that I'm not the final authority on what is and isn't real.

Tyrone Biggums is pissed he didn't get the part.

Is that a Burress jersey?

  2. Me too, man. Where you at now?

And this is about the time of the year that the "Wi-I-lli's" jingle would start ringing with more frequency.

  3. Man, if you live in Queens, you gotta move to Brooklyn. Or Harlem. Or back to the Burgh.

  4. I'm in Brooklyn, Williamsburg that is...

Are you guys always at Texas Arizona to watch the games?

  5. JPPB - Not Harlem, Brooklyn has too many hipsters (and Matt, apparently). The Burgh is just right, though.

Matt - We made it to both of the day games (I'm not trekking to Hoboken for a Sunday night or Monday night game). Email me if you ever plan on heading that way to watch the game or jsut to high five.

  6. that is an absolute 100% real commercial... it actually aired locally during the monday night game (I specifically remember hoping to God that it wasn't getting aired nationally so friends of mine in other cities wouldn't see it)

  7. Yes, that is an actual commercial, and I am pretty sure they picked somebody off the street. I live within about a five minute walking distance from that store.

  8. That's unbelievable, I love that commercial.

At least it's not boring like the local Eli Manning ads.
