10 Year Old Kids Bowl Better Than The Penguins

Feel-good stories rule.

Yesterday, the Pens joined up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the inaugural Pens and Pins tournament. This is the type of thing where you can actually smile when a local athlete sucks.

The players who helped out served as a celebrity captain for each team. The newly-formed Penguins Wives Association set up the event, which included bowling, a bake sale and silent auction.

Potash (yes!) was there, as were a slew of Penguins players and their WAGs. However I have to cut up on a certain Pen, who obviously hasn't been watching his Lebowski or Kingpin. MAF, you may make me feel old and unaccomplished in life by being a successful athlete, but dammit, I could probably beat you at bowling. And I suck at bowling.


"I’m terrible,” Fleury noted. “I finished last in my group. These kids beat me. I didn’t expect that out of me, being so bad. I’ve got to work on that."


To top that off, here's what some kid had to say about MAF, emphasis mine:


"I already beat him, I don’t know if he’s that good at bowling,” Bryce Cunningham, 10, said. “It’s pretty fun because you just all get together and bowl."

Why The Hell Does Ben Roethlisberger Like To Bowl So Much?

Run for the hills everybody, there's a giant shit-cloud coming!

Big Ben loves to bowl. A lot. Who the hell woulda guessed?

What, you think this one-time video isn't enough to form my own opinion? Well what happens when you couple that with that one video of Ben bowling in his college days? You know...this one?



Multiple videos of the same guy doing the same random thing means he does this a lot. If its been caught on video at least twice, then there's a certain frequency to the habit. Now, I'm not saying that bowling is a bad thing (I rather enjoy it), but its just weird to see the same guy playing the same fringe sport more than once.

Sometimes a bowler just has to face the music.

This was a few days after he got carted off the field on a stretcher on December 28, 2007 in the last regular season game...so he is used to the position he ends up in. This happened at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington Pennsylvania.


Serious? If Ben is fine enough to bowl, he's gotta have the concussion-cobwebs wiped out. So there's no blaming any mistakes on the injury, Ben. We have proof that you're fine.

Or...Ben's fall at the alley only made the concussion symptoms worse. Damn those slippy floors!

I'm stopping now...this is only getting worse as I keep typing.

Political Dissent Among Steel Curtain Steelers?

Looks like politics break up the ties that bind.

From this picture, it appears both Jerome Bettis and Franco Harris are Democratic supporters. More importantly, they're Barack Obama-Democratic supporters.

Political endorsements have taken their toll on the Steel Curtain Steelers, as it seems. Back when (Republican) Lynn Swann was running for governor of Pennsylvania, the only hints of Steeler support came from this guy:

...and he was probably smashed out of his mind.

However, I don't know how long beatified bowler Bettis will be on board with Barack (The Bus is in the Bowling Hall of Fame). Especially after the presidential candidate recently posted a 37 at some lanes in Altoona.
