This Little Kid is Cool and Not Cool at the Same Time

Yeah, we're nearly a month past the election, but that doesn't mean we should stop little kids from expressing their political views. Because when I want political endorsements, I ALWAYS turn to tykes.

Not only would this little kid "make the Pittsburgh Steelers president," she would also "vote for them."

I think you got it backwards, kid.

However, this little girl is obviously a fake Steelers fan. She's only "making" the Steelers president because her dad is a fan. Plus, she endorses John McCain, because Obama wants to "take the rich peoples' money and give it to the lazy people", whereas McCain "wants them to get their own jobs."

Guess she didn't see that nearly every Steeler (and the organization) this side of Lynn Swann (and Hank Williams Jr.) backed Barry Obamy.

Oh well. I'll let it slide. You know, since the election is over. And because this girl is like 3.

Toddlers Love That Steelers Gear NFL Shop Commercial

Every time that NFL Shop commercial with all the Steelers gear comes on, I'm immediately reminded of our [Unnamed] Steelers Pregame Show set. Video of said commercial is below.

I don't know why, but the toddler in the above video is killing me. And I'm one to usually hate on movies/commercials or anything that has kids digitally talking. I guess this one works because it's (sorta) the real deal. Well, as real as a lip-synching toddler could be.

And sorry if this tyke is an infant or a baby or squirt instead of a toddler. I really don't know the difference.

Kids: Penguins > Pirates

Kids hate the Pirates. And love the Penguins.

I can't blame them. I'd pick Sid/Geno/MAF/Staal over Bay/ADD/Paulino/McLouth any day. The tots are just learning early on that winning makes you that much cooler.

Growing up, I was able to experience winning in both sports. Sure, the Buccos didn't bring home the championship, but I was pumped to watch guys like Bonds/Bonilla/Van Slyke/Pena just as much as I loved watching Lemieux/Jagr/Francis/Stevens/Loney etc. And even though those Pirates weren't bringing home the championship hardware like the Pens, I was still taught to love Clemente/Stargell/Maz and the rest.

Do you want local sports wisdom from the mouths of babes (kids AND moms)? Read that article. Here's a conversation between a kid named Gunnar (?) and his mom after the kid came home from kindergarten. Don't know why anyone would call their kid Gunnar, though:

Gunnar: "Mom, Josh said something mean today."

Mom: "What did he say?"

Gunnar: "He said the Pirates stink."

Mom: "Well, honey, they do."

Gunnar: "They do?

Mom: "Yep."

Gunnar: "Oh."

And Gunnar now knows the plight of the Pittsburgh sports fan. Everything (Gunnar) needs to know (he) learned in kindergarten.

However, despite my love of all teams Black and Gold, I have to make like the kiddies for the current Pirates/Penguins outlook.

Georges Laraque Rules

Too. Many. People. On. The. Ice/Floor.

In all seriousness, Georges Laraque is awesome. He recently organized a floor hockey game with a bunch of Pittsburgh kids to help support the Doorway Foundation, explained in the video as helping with people dealing with addiction.

Now, if I was a kid playing in this game, I'd be shitting in my britches just thinking about Laraque staring me down, politely asking to fight.

I can't stand when idiotic fans of rival teams continually call Laraque a heartless goon without knowing anything other than his role as a team enforcer. Please hate on the guy who just received the Edward J. DeBartolo “Community Service” Award for helping the local community and charities. Yes, he's a real bastard.
