This is absolutely ridiculous. I first saw this on Yahoo, and it is stunning. Ben Carpenter, a young man with Muscular Dystrophy was inadvertantly "swept away" as he took a quick trip around the block. As he was crossing the street, a semi tuck hit the man's wheelchair, causing it to get get stuck in the truck's grill. The truck pushed the wheelchair at speeds of up to 50 MPH, for roughly 4 miles. The unaware truck driver only stopped after being pursued by alerted police.

Carpenter, 21, of Michigan, thought his ordeal would end only after 50 or 60 miles. He thought he might not survive the trip.

I would drop the kids off...in my pants...if this ever happened to me. And the handicapped man seems so calm about the whole ordeal.

Crazy.
