Will he or won't he? Will he or won't he? That's been the question regarding D Alex Goligoski's final year of eligibility at the University of Minnesota.

He will...

...Skip his final year as a Golden Gopher to join the Pens organization.

Goligoski has been tagged as the second best Pens defensive prospect behind Kris Letang. Letang is expected to make the club this season. Goligoski might spend some time in Wilkes-Barre before making an impact on a stacked Pens team.

Goligoski, a left handed offensive-minded defenseman (seriously, how many of those do we have?), played with a torn labrum last season and still made it as a First-Team All-American. He scored 9 goals and recorded 30 assists in 40 games to win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's defensive player of the year award.

And his shoulder? After surgery to repair the labrum, he is said to be doing fine.

His deal is for 2 years, paying him $500k this season and $600k next year.

I'm really beginning to wonder if the Penguins roster can get any better. They better go far in the playoffs for the next 5 years with the talent they have. It's just incredible.
