Pens Sign Veteran G Conklin

Veteran goalie Ty Conklin has agreed to terms with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Conklin played for both Columbus and Buffalo last season.

With Dany Sabourin expected to be MAF's primary backup, Conklin will be spending most of his time in Wilkes-Barre. However, if Sabourin or MAF struggle/are injured, it will be good to have a solid veteran there to fill the void.

Conklin has a career win percentage above .500, going 30-24-6, with a 2.65 goals against coupled with a .900 save percentage. Good Wilkes-Barre numbers.

I'm just registering my disgust withi this trade. Conklin has all sorts of bad juju following him around ever since he was in the Stanley Cup.

Bad mojo or not, the signing of Dany Sabourin should keep Conklin in the dark bowels of Wilkes-Barre. As long as MAF doesn't implode, there should be no reason for him to infect the big boys.

Well, MAF was injured, and Sabourin struggled.

Ty Conklin is now guarding the Penguins' cage, I for one am glad they picked him up. He has already registered a couple hard-fought shutouts.

I hope you guys won't blame Crosby's ankle sprain on his bad mojo!

I have nothing against Conk. No one could forsee MAF going down and Sabu playing .500 hockey...which could hardly be seen as struggling. He's a backup, .500 is decent for a backup.

I'm looking for Malkin to step it up big time with Crosby out.
