That Dude Behind Dan Potash Sucks

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

h/t to The Pensblog for the video.

Guess what, dude? Dan Potash is unflappable.

I've never really liked it when idiots purposefully interrupt stuff just to get their face on t.v. The only thing remotely close that was still acceptable was back when I was younger and still living in the 'Burgh, my dad had a business trip to New York City (where I now live), and waved to the camera on Good Morning America. Now, its acceptable because that kinda thing is the norm on GMA when they, you know, pan to the crowd.

But if you're at a Penguins game, and the amazing Dan Potash is interviewing Robert Morris' head coach, don't pull a "look at me" with a terrible attempt at The Robot or some shit.

Potash is the pinnacle of professionalism, and always seems to put forth a solid interview. He might be one of the best on-field (on-ice?) reporters in the game. If I was in his place, and some fool started showboating behind me just to get on camera, the mic would instantly drop, and a haymaker would be flying in the direction of said asshat.

And that's why I blog and Dan Potash gets things done.

Rick Tocchet Is, And Never Was, Smart

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

We'll always have a soft spot for Rick Tocchet in the Burgh, despite the fact that he only came to the team at the trading deadline of the second Cup win and the fact that he's made some pretty questionable decisions.

Tocchet, as you'll remember, pleaded guilty to conspiring and promoting an underground gambling ring. Bad choice.

Prior to that, he was on Wayne Gretzky's staff on a terrible Phoenix Coyotes team. Bad choice.

While he was waiting on sentencing for his guilty plea for gambling, he appeared at the World Series of Poker. Not smart for a guy with illegal gambling problems. Another bad choice.

After the NHL re-instated him in February 2008, he joined Barry Melrose's staff in Tampa Bay. The same Tampa Bay that is now owned by Hollywood producers who bought up any free agent regardless of team chemistry. They also hired Melrose, who had spent like 75 years at ESPN because no NHL team would hire him. Melrose was fired, and now Tocchet is the Interim Coach of the worst team in the NHL. Bad choice? Like I had to even tell you.

But was Tocchet always prone to bad decisions? Like, in his playing days...was he a smart guy? This video shows that Tocchet's history of bad decisions did not start after his playing career was over.

That's Tocchet, broken jaw and all, deciding to fight Kevin Hatcher in the '92 playoffs. You can guess how Tocchet did.

People Still Play Golden Tee?

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

I'm amazed that people still play Golden Tee, let alone upload their shot to the Internet. I mean, I know it makes sense when you're 10 beers deep at the bar, but c'mon! Look at the description on the Youtube page:

JRH hits an amazing shot at HOOTERS MONROEVILLE, PITTSBURGH, PA!

At Hooters, nonetheless. How are you playing Golden Tee and not chatting up the waitresses? Or at least playing Big Buck Hunter?

Really, this was just excuse to link to one of the best things ever on the Internet.

I figure we'll kick off the night with some Golden Tee! I am going to smack the shit out of that little white ball! It's going to be so f**king loud! I'll bet I can drive that pretend golf ball 600 f**king yards tonight! I'm that f**king pumped!

Actually, yeah...it's Friday...I can definitely go for some Golden Tee.

Dude, Quit Annoying The Athletes

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Man, I really wanted to find a video of current Giant and former Steeler Plaxico Burress looking like a douchebag, but the pestering fan in this clip is the one who comes off as the asshat.

Nice catch in the f***ing end zone!

Nice catch to win a SUPER BOWL, PLAX!

Some people are extremely knowledgeable and classy when it comes to meeting sports stars. No wonder most athletes hate the Internet/blogs/Youtube/etc.

Here's the same weirdo bothering Brandon Jacobs. I betcha Jacobs doesn't watch The Rip Artist. Ain't nothing like using a little kid's autograph desire to get athletes on camera.

Blue Jays Fans Are Creative, Classy

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Baseball fans are unique. And original.

Let's get specific, and single out some of our Canadian fan-brothers (if that's even a word). The last interleague series we played prior to the current Yankees series involved another AL East team, the Toronto Blue Jays. I'll forever respect the Jays solely for the Joe Carter home run to win the World Series. Their fans...not so much.

With Freddy Sanchez up to bat, these geniuses decide to give up on the name Freddy, and instead, use the term Dirty Sanchez (language NSFW).

Excuse me while I laugh for a few minutes.

"Ooooh, his first name ends in a Y and his last name is Sanchez. I wonder how we can make something hilarious out of this?"

It was funny the first time. It was funny the second time. Hell, it was funny the third. By now, though, I'm sick of losers thinking they're so damn original by chanting "Dir-ty San-chez."

And according to the Youtube page, these idiots were sitting right in front of Freddy's wife and two kids when they proved how hardass they were. Real classy, dicks. I hope Freddy shows up at their cubicles next week chanting, "Micro-managed, corporate-slaves making minimum wa-ge."

At least they coulda got creative and gone with some of these:

"Ilich Ramírez Sán-chez"

"Ros-elyn Sán-chez"

or even

"Matt San-chez"

Do some research next time, jerks.

Tony Gallagher Has A Beef With The Pens, Officiating, Kids On His Lawn

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

We're now in a new week, beyond the Penguins season and into some dumb hot weather. I guess the end of the playoffs segues into the start of a new season...Trash The Penguins Season.

My name is Tony Gallagher.

I write one-sentence paragraphs.

My view on the NHL sucks.

I like to complain about the Penguins.

My opinions mean nothing.

Seriously, read that link. Here it is again, in case you're an idiot.

For those of you not up to date on the Stanley Cup Finals...they're over. Detroit showed they were the better team and took the Cup with them. Empty Netters has an entire season recap posted. The Pensblog is about to write their own recap. Nothing that I, or any of those guys, say makes any difference in what happened in the Finals. We lost, Detroit won, let's move on to next season.

For Tony Gallagher, that isn't enough. He has the balls to question the officiating in the final minutes of Game 6:

While nobody really wanted to say so, how could you have possibly watched the calls in that series and not had the feeling that somehow, consciously or more likely unconsciously, there was a slant toward favouring the Pittsburgh Penguins?

While it seemed to be prevalent most of the series, at times to a far lesser extent, the final 20 seconds of Game 6 illustrated the problem perfectly.

With Detroit just having given up a power-play goal that allowed Pittsburgh to get to within 3-2 with under two minutes to go, the Pens had their goalie out and the Wings under siege.

But with about 18 seconds left, Pavel Datsyuk of the Wings managed to skate free with the puck, skate it out over the blue-line, but as he readied a shot toward the open net, he was hauled down with an abundantly obvious stick foul so blatant that Helen Keller would have been forced to raise her arm.

No call.

Pittsburgh then got the puck, stormed the other end and nearly tied the game in the last second.

This call wasn't missed. There is absolutely no conceivable way it could have been missed.

But the officials chose not to end the Penguins' season. In fact, for the first time in all my years of viewing hockey, I was overwhelmed by a sense that there existed a desperate need to keep this series going for the good of the game, no matter how far rule interpretations had to be stretched.

Um...wow! Not just for the completely ridiculous "argument," but for the fact that I had to copy/paste 8 paragraphs that should have been merged into one.

I find it hard to believe that an editor would allow this filth to be published. We, as bloggers, take so much heat for publishing vile, salacious crap while The National Post greenlights complete b.s. The Wings won the Cup, dumbass. And see, we aren't the only ones making Helen Keller jokes.

Let's look at the numbers. There were 6 games played in the Finals. Over the course of the series, The Penguins were called for 41 penalties. That's almost 7 a game. Detroit was called for 36 penalties. That's 6 a game, for you math-starved kids. Half of the games in the series (3) showcased more Penguins penalties than Red Wings penalties. Detroit was called for more penalties in only 2 of the games, with Game 5 evenly distributed at 6 penalties apiece. Factor in that the first two games, in which Detroit went up 2-0 in the series, the Penguins were called for 8 more penalties than the Wings (21-13). Now, a number of those penalties were a result of the scrum at the end of Game 2, but Pittsburgh was penalized to a greater extent in that fracas despite both teams pushing and shoving.

Gallagher is more concerned with the Pens not being called on a trip with hardly any time left in their season. Using this logic, should I write a freelance article for The National Post complaining how the disparity in penalties in the first two games changed the course of the series? Because last I checked, Chris Osgood still hasn't been called for his dives.

Now, let's look at penalty minutes. Cumulatively, the Penguins were assessed 94 penalty minutes. Detroit was assessed 74 penalty minutes. Again, taking the Game 2 scrum into account, there is no reason why in that game, the Penguins had 30 more penalty minutes assessed (46-16). Also, Gallagher talks about the goalie interference calls in the OT winner in Game 5. In that game, Detroit only had 4 more penalty minutes than the Penguins. (14-10). If I remember correctly, the Penguins won on a 4-minute high sticking penalty that drew blood. Prior to that, the officiating "slant" was pretty damn close (10-10).

So let's base our arguments off one missed call at the end of a fantastic Game 6 in which both teams had legit scoring chances late. Please don't look at the entire series, in which the Penguins had more penalties and penalty minutes than the Red Wings. Conspiracies obviously exist because the officials allowed the beaten team one last chance at a goal, not because we were seemingly in the box at every possible moment.

Tony Gallagher, go complain about something else. The Wings won and the series is over. Quit fabricating "stories" in your own mind.

Cedrick Wilson Released. No Double Standard

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Cedrick Wilson was just released, following an incident with his girlfriend. Yes, the same girlfriend involved in this past January's armed-standoff.

Ced was charged with striking her in the face.

But wait, wasn't James Harrison arrested for the same offense...but he's still on the roster?

PFT and Mondesi's House discuss a possible double standard.

Horse Shit.

To this point, the Harrison incident was isolated. The man hadn't been in the news for similar disturbances. Ced, well, there seems to be more to his story than meets the eye.

Look at the timeline regarding Ced's recent troubles.

- Ced and girlfriend get into argument.
- Girlfriend fires gun in house, gets in standoff with police.
- Ced files Protection-From-Abuse Order against girlfriend, claiming she might kill him.
- Ced drops Protection-From-Abuse Order, provided girlfriend doesn't file one against him.
- Ced is charged with pushing girlfriend down, then punching her in the face.
- Ced is promptly released from the Steelers.

Here's the kicker. Re-read that 4th part of the timeline:

Ced drops Protection-From-Abuse Order, provided girlfriend doesn't file one against him.

Why would Cedrick Wilson be so concerned that a girlfriend he was afraid of might file a PFA against him. He was claiming to be an innocent victim of a crazy woman. Kinda fishy that he didn't want to have a PFA filed against him.

I don't know about you, but if I was a victim of abuse/torment/violent behavior, I wouldn't be trying to keep a PFA from getting filed AGAINST me.

People may ask why James Harrison still has a roster spot. I ask myself why half of the Bengals still have roster spots. Now, if there is more to James Harrison's story, then I'm all for letting him go, but the Ced incident and the Silverback incident are polar opposites.

And no, I don't condone abuse. Re-read my post about Harrison's incident if you need a refresh.

The Pirates Are Even More Horrible Now

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Prior to Pirates season, I'm usually in a pretty positive mood. I like to make outrageous claims that this year is going to be the year. I cannot bring myself to do it this year.

(I couldn't believe the Pirates could get worse, but they did)

I was about to enter blissfully-ignorant territory again...until yesterday.

(I couldn't believe the Pirates could get worse, but they did)

Yesterday, my Buccos signed...this guy...who blew consecutive saves in the World Series with awful pitches to this guy and this guy.

The pitcher...not any of the hitters. I don't even want to mention his name. Because as awful as the Pirates have been in recent years, I could always say," At least we don't have Byung-Hyun Kim."

(I couldn't believe the Pirates could get worse, but they did)

So even if we make the elusive .500 mark, or (more preposterously) the playoffs, we now have the perfect reliever to mess it all up.

But to be fair, this was one of my last posts about the Buccos, so my opinion my be a little jaded:

The Only Petition That Matters

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Have you seen the petition to the NFL to investigate the final 1:40 of Super Bowl XLII? It was created by idiot Patriots fans. Its been on KSK...MJD hit on the topic...and I'm mad. This is the same type of bullshit that Seahawks fans pulled after Super Bowl XL. "Ooooh...Jackson didn't push off in the end zone!" Whatever. Patriots fans, take your 16-0 regular season and go be quiet somewhere.

In response to this outrageous petition, I took the time to start my own petition. Its to all other NFL fans. I urge you to start referring to Patriots fans as "Nerd-Ass Idiot Dork-Jerks." No joke. I'm sick of this crybaby attitude. First, they defend personal cheaters like Rodney Harrison. Next, they pull the Jedi Mind Trick and change the subject everytime someone mentions Spygate (read the comments). Now, the NFL was wrong to let the Patriots lose in the Super Bowl. Incredible.

Do the right thing. Sign the petition. Let Patriots fans know where they stand.

And please point out every typo. I wrote this in like a minute. I know I spelled "referred" wrong.

I can't wait til the hate mail starts pouring in. I love hate mail.

My Super Bowl Pick Is In

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

I know you've probably asked yourself this question about a million times by now: "Who is Tec and PSaMP endorsing for the Super Bowl?"

So many tough decisions. Do I go with Brady and the much-hated Cheatriots? Or do I go with the QB picked before Big Ben in the same draft who still doesn't have a ring like Ben but the "experts" are all fawning over?

End of suspense. I went with Eli and the Giants. My pick is over at good friend Chris' blog, The Hot Route. He's got a whole buncha cool blogs that added picks. Mine is the best, though.

He asked us to try to keep the reasoning to 10 words or less (even though a couple bloggers went over), so that'll explain my sentence structure/grammar.

You'll have to go over to The Hot Route to see my reasoning. I can't give it all away here.

However, Sheena gave me the inspiration for the "Precious Moments" reference.

Fin.

The Patriots Are Peyton Manning

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Since I’m a Steelers fan, I have no real concern about who wins the Super Bowl. I hate the Patriots, can’t stand both Eli and Philip (QBs drafted before Big Ben who don’t yet have a ring but are constantly put on a pedestal) and have no relation whatsoever to the Pack. Best case scenario in my mind in the Conference Championship games…Pack and Chargers in the Super Bowl, with Green Bay winning it all. It looks like the worst case scenario is playing out, either the Patriots getting ring #4, or Eli stunning the world and causing MSM hacks’ heads to explode.

At this point, it’s nearly inconceivable to believe the Giants will win it all. I mean, they just lost to the Patriots a few weeks back. Which brings me to my point…the Patriots have completely numbed me to the fact that they are probably going to win another championship. At the beginning of the season, this idea made me furious. Now…I’m completely numb to the inevitable.

This whole story seems like it’s played out before. Oh yeah, it’s the same way I reacted to seeing Peyton Manning in every television commercial.

Here are the four steps to complete disregard.

1. STRAIGHT HATE.

Peyton – Dude, screw Mastercard! Peyton hasn’t even won a ring yet! Why is he in commercials? Marketable my ass. That forehead is ridiculous. Although, “Cut that meat” is kinda laughable.

Patriots – Just because the Patriots acquired Randy Moss, it doesn’t automatically give New England a free pass to the Super Bowl! And 16-0?!?! Psssht. Come on, “experts!” It’s not even May. This conversation is bullshit.

2. ANNOYED BEYOND BELIEF.

Peyton – Sprint, Sony, ESPN, DirecTV, Gatorade…why is this dude everywhere? I’m sick of seeing his dumb face. Commercial breaks = complete hell. Coupled with “This is our Country,” Peyton is driving me away from the NFL.

Patriots – They cheated! I don’t care if they’re 13-0, any record is tarnished! Why is ESPN running a “Patriots” section on their scrolling bottom line? And CBS is building some shit with Robert Kraft? Alright, conflict of interest. Can Phil Simms please get off Tom Brady’s nuts?

3. MIFFED ACCEPTANCE.

Peyton – Ok, he’s won a ring. I guess he finally has some reason to be featured during every commercial break. And that SNL-spot was kinda funny. As much as I hate this tool, my throwing shit at the TV. is not going to help anything.

Patriots – Alright, they finished undefeated. It’s still not going to mean anything when they lose in the playoffs. Can you say bittersweet when they’re watching the Super Bowl from a couch somewhere? They can’t seriously run the table. Especially in the AFC. Have fun losing.

4. NUMB.

Peyton – [Commercial break comes on, Peyton is on the screen] TV have pretty colors.

/drool drips from side of mouth.

Patriots – [“The Patriots have won the AFC Championship!”] Me like Eli.

/drool drips from side of mouth.

The Arrogance Of Massholes

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

I received an email from friend and fellow Steelers blogging compatriot Cotter from One For The Other Thumb. He talked about Patriots fans, and their need to gloat. Adding to the gloating, the Patriots fans continually make excuses for Spygate and Rodney Harrison's HGH use.

What the f**k is wrong with these assholes? I don't understand. Their team got caught videotaping other team's signals on the sidelines. But what, we made this up? That's not cheating? God damn frustrating man. Have you seen this exchange? -http://www.blitzburghreport.com/did-you-hear-that-anthony-smith-guaranteed-a-steelers-victory/

It's like they were waiting for us to lose so they could talk shit.

I don't get it.

After the Patriots won, Patriots fans bragged all over several Steelers blogs, including this one. I have links to several of the blogs further down in this post so you can check 'em out for yourselves.

Here's my thoughts:

The frustrating thing about Patriots fans (I refuse to use the nickname for the team, it only empowers Patriots fans) is that their recent string of success has completely blinded them. After the Celtics boom, there was little to celebrate in Boston. The Red Sox sucked, the Patriots sucked, the Bruins sucked.

Now, the Patriots success coupled with multiple Red Sox titles has overloaded the Boston ego, and they feel untouchable. Back in college, I had a real good buddy (two of 'em, actually) from Boston. They were typical Sox and Patriots fans. Evan and Bart were their names. They came from upper-class families, played lacrosse, wore pastel Polo shirts, talked traditional Masshole talk...the whole deal. Even after a hard night of partying, RAs would come to my room to separate myself and Evan for getting into Patriots/Steelers arguments. I loved the dude like a brother, but we always stressed our team's importance.

Despite all the concrete evidence I could give, Ev's argument would come down to, "3 Super Bowls...Tom Brady...Belichick...the Sox." I don't know why the Sox were thrown in there, but their success helped justify the Patriots' greatness. Now, the Sox only had one recent World Series title at the time, but that was a bragging point.

I'd counter with, "5 Super Bowls...Noll...Cowher...the laundry list of HOFers...the name Rooney...etc." Every bragging point Evan had, I'd counter with something better on our side. Hell, we were even at St. Vincent College, the Steelers' training camp, next to a dorm called Rooney Hall.

However, since the Patriots had 3 Super Bowls in the past decade, their organization was far superior. It reminds me of when me and you verbally jousted with Browns fans several weeks back. They continually used data from 60+ years ago to justify that Cleveland was superior to the Steelers. Likewise, Patriots fans use much more recent data, blindly omitting the fact that their team was an NFL afterthought prior to the 21st Century.

Which brings me to the cheating, Rodney Harrison and the idiot anonymous commenters on sites like Curtain, Doubt About It and here at PSaMP. Its like New England got a collective hardon when Anthony Smith guaranteed a win. When the Patriots won, their ego overflowed. Instead of high-fiving other Patriots fans, they felt the need to brag all over Steelers blogs. Now, I don't know about you, but even though I spent the week prior to the (second) Browns game on a Browns site defending the Steelers (here and here), I didn't go back once to gloat after we won. Gloating would've been classless. Browns fans repeatedly called us classless, as did the Patriots fans. But the Patriots fans decided to gloat. I'm dumbfounded how that math worked out.

Now, Patriots fans feel the need to stroke their ego so much, that this win over the Steelers now wiped the slate clean for all the wrongdoings from earlier in the season. Since Anthony Smith opened his mouth...and New England won...the Patriots are absolved of Spygate, or Rodney Harrison's HGH use. I asked a Patriots fan, "Would you be so smug if the Jets were caught videotaping the Patriots...then won the game?" No answer. And when I created a list of athletes/teams forfeiting games due to cheating/rules violations, the list wasn't good enough. I cited Olympic athletes and Tour de France riders stripped of championships for doping, the Black Sox, Michigan's Fab 5 having to remove their Final 4 banner for rules violations and Oklahoma football forfeiting the entire 2005 season's wins because of rules violations by the athletes and their coaches. The response...only the Black Sox were a pro team...and they willingly gave up their championship. Now, I guess cheating is different in the pros than it is in college, or in the Olympics, or the Tour de France. Cheating in the pros only gets you a draft pick docked, evidence immediately destroyed and your coach fined. And the pros are supposed to be the role models.

The Patriots knowingly cheated with the videotaping. Rodney Harrison doped, something that would've gotten him banned for life in the Olympics or Tour. Sam, from DAI said it best:

'...from the NFL rulebook:

"No video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game." They also say all video for coaching purposes must be shot from locations "enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead." How is that hard to interpret? I've never seen an entire fanbase so quick to defend something so indefensible.'

Now, he was talking about Spygate, but the last part covers Harrison, too. If the Steelers were caught cheating, or some player on the team was busted for a banned substance, I'd be the first person to chastise that team/player. New England fans would rather make excuses than explanations.

And its not just the fans. "Well done is better than well said." That Tom Brady quote was forced down our throats by the CBS crew calling the game, since Anthony Smith made that blatant guarantee. However, Tom Brady did not once come out and criticize Harrison for being fined $5k for taunting Brian Billick the week before. I guess a win erases wrongdoings...on several levels.

We've accepted the loss. There was no shifting blame. Anthony Smith made a mistake. The Patriots won. Now, Patriots fans have another rung on the ladder to run away from Spygate and Harrison's doping...at least in their minds. I don't know if they'll ever see the light.

All I know is that I'll be here to put them in their place.

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

We lost. I'm over it. In trying to find the silver lining, I only came up with one positive. A win might've exhausted the team, and the excitement and energy spent could have hurt the team down the stretch. But that's just me rationalizing.

Tale of the tape: Awful defense. Underlying theme: FGs come back to bite you.

Oh, and some awesome anonymous Patriots fan decided to show up after the game spewing traditionally ignorant and irrelevant New England bullshit (I edited some of the content. For the kiddies).

It makes me all the more satisfied when the Pats kick the living shit out of your pathetic nobody Steelers. And by the way, I took I-90 all the way out to Erie and then went to Pittsburgh the day after:All I gotta say is your entire f**king state is filled with the worst f**king smell and the shittiest f**king view I have ever seen in my entire life. December 9, 2007 11:45 PM

I thought Cleveland fans were bad. With our recent domination over the Brownies, I think New England fans are now enemy #1. Please...someone call Steelers fans classless one more time.

I'm gonna do this quick. The mistakes were so glaring that its not gonna take much to explain.

Ben. Played well. Didn't finish drives, though. 13 points should've been 21. Plus, that goal line stop hurt as well. Bruce Arians is partly to blame. Ben gets 3 of 5 motorcycle helmets.

RBs. Aside from Ben, they were the only other bright spot. Willie went over 100 while Najeh was looking like a WR. 3.5 out of 5 motorcycle helmets.

Bruce Arians. He is the most uncreative Offensive Coordinator. The only time he tried to do something creative was on the goal line with the WR handoff. You don't need to be creative on the goal line. Just punch it in. 2 of 5 motorcycle helmets.

Willie Colon. Wow. My first-ever 0 of 5 motorcycle helmets. Vrabel was offsides on several of the plays, but Willie looked horrible.

Secondary. I thought Troy being out wouldn't make this big of a difference. Ty Carter played well in his place the past few weeks, and Anthony Smith was starting to come into his own. However, a veteran like Troy wouldn't bite on the repeated play fakes like the younger guys did. With Troy, some of those long passes are negated, and we have a different ballgame. 2 of 5 motorcycle helmets.

Rest of D. Why did no one hit Welker when he first came off the line? You have 5 yards to beat the snot outta him. Philly and Baltimore did just that, and made the game competitive. We didn't. That, added to no pressure on Brady makes for a lethal combination. I'm hoping Mike Tomlin and Dick LeBeau were holding some of their cards in case the two teams meet again in the postseason. 2 of 5 motorcycle helmets. That was awful defense.

I hope New England goes undefeated. WHAT! DID YOU JUST SAY THAT, TEC?!?!?! Yes. Go 16-0. I don't give a shit. That'll just make it so much more bitter when they lose in the playoffs. No team that passes that much will succeed in January. Everyone was writing off Green Bay earlier in the season because they had no running game. Their's is back on track. But I'm sure Maroney and Faulk can just get to normal speed in January after barely being used in September through December.

Jacksonville next week. 9-5 would suck. We better bounce back ridiculously fast.

42,000 People Suck

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Um...are we serious?

This poll is on CBS Sportsline's NFL page today. It asks readers to voice who they think can stop the Patriots on their quest for the perfect season and the Super Bowl.

Let's look at the choices available, and the selections made by 42,000+ idiots.

Aside from our Steelers, CBS offers the Packers, who aren't guaranteed to play the Patriots, the Colts and Cowboys, who have both already lost to New England and New England themselves.

The dorks chiming in on this box of stupidity have picked the Packers as the consensus team to stop the Patriots. Sure, if the Packers were even scheduled to play New England. Oooh...let's base our argument on what we hope is going to happen! 28%...gimme a break.

Next in line is Nobody. Glad you are all thinking positive. Nerds.

Third is the Cowboys. Last I checked, the 'Boys already lost to New England, and will only meet the Patriots if the Packers (who were picked to stop New England earlier in this stupid poll) fail to reach the Super Bowl. Are you even thinking when you highlight your choice?

Fourth position finally brings us to the Steelers. This is the only team on the list that is actually guaranteed to play New England this season. Yet, only 13% of the sample, or less than half of those who picked the not-guaranteed Packers, decided to choose Pittsburgh. I'm so lost at this point.

Fifth is the Colts. They, too, have already lost to New England, and will only play the Patriots again if several scenarios iron out so that the teams meet in the postseason. However, that didn't stop 11% of the poll-takers from picking the already-vanquished Colts. That's only 2% less than the only team that will positively play New England this season. As we continue to move through the picks of the people, I find myself seething. Are CBS Sportsline readers this dumb?

Sixth is the Patriots. What?! No Giants, Dolphins, Jets, Eagles (Philly hasn't played New England as of my writing this) or Ravens? And 9% of the jerk sample picked the Patriots to beat themselves, or only 4% less than those who picked the Steelers. I'd be offended, but its hard to get offended by people with little to no brain.

So what have we learned? A whole bunch of nothing. CBS Sportsline readers are ridiculously horrible at polls, which might be the simplest things ever. Its a test, but the answers are provided for you, and none are technically wrong. Unless you read CBS Sportsline and take their polls. Then you are wrong. A lot.

I think Who's Now was better...

John Duffy Pleads Guilty

PSAMP HAS MOVED! CLICK HERE TO GET TO THE BRAND NEW SITE! NOW!

Remember John Duffy, the local ESPN Radio broadcaster? He pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in a federal court today.

I said that if he was found guilty, then he is disgusting. He went ahead and admitted his own guilt. Disgusting is not even a harsh enough word.

WPXI says that the prison term will likely be 51-63 months. He was supposed to face up to 10 years in prison. Duffy, you should consider yourself lucky to get off with such a light sentence.

I'm finished talking about your wretched life.
